QRBento is a free website for generating static QR codes. This notice explains what happens to the information you enter, what our hosting provider may process when you visit, and how future advertising choices will work. It applies to the QRBento website, not to external sites you might encode in a QR code.
1. Information you enter into the QR generator
The current QRBento generators process your entries locally using JavaScript on your device. Examples include URLs, Wi-Fi network names and passwords, contact cards, WhatsApp numbers, email addresses, messages, event details and map locations. The website's QR-generation code does not submit those contents to a QRBento QR-generation server, store them in a QRBento database, or associate them with a user account.
If you upload an image or logo to place in a QR code, your browser reads it locally to produce the preview and export. The image is not uploaded to QRBento for this process. The browser may hold entered details, preview data and generated images temporarily while the page is open. QRBento does not offer cloud backups or an account history of generated QR codes.
Important: downloaded QR images, particularly SVG files with embedded logos, may themselves contain the information you supplied. They remain on your device or wherever you choose to share them. A QR code is a machine-readable encoding, not encryption. Anyone who can access or scan it may read the encoded content. Consider using a guest Wi-Fi network instead of distributing your primary network password.
2. What the website and its hosting provider may process
When you visit QRBento, your browser requests website files. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process technical information such as IP address, request time, URL path, browser or device details, and security signals for delivery, abuse prevention, operational security, and troubleshooting. This is separate from the contents of the QR code you generate in your browser. Cloudflare may retain technical logs or set security-related cookies according to its services and applicable settings.
The QRBento Version 1 source code contains no custom user-registration system, QR-generation database, AdSense tags, or third-party visitor-analytics scripts. Cloudflare account-level analytics and security features, when enabled, may also process technical request information. For questions about site data practices, contact us using the address below.
3. Cookies, analytics and future advertising
As supplied, the site's own code does not intentionally set advertising cookies, install ad tracking tags, or load a third-party cookie-consent manager. Necessary hosting and security technologies may still operate. Visit our Cookie & Ad Choices page for the current status.
Google AdSense is not activated in this version. If QRBento enables advertising later, we will first update this policy to identify the advertising and measurement providers, their purposes, cookies or other identifiers, relevant disclosures and rights. Where required, we will provide an actual consent mechanism and choices before activating optional advertising technologies. In relevant European jurisdictions, Google requires an appropriate certified consent management platform for serving ads.
4. External websites and destinations
Some generators create links to websites or services, including Google Maps, Google Calendar and WhatsApp, or a URL of your choosing. QRBento encodes these links locally. When a person opens a QR destination, the destination operator—not QRBento's static QR generator—may receive information according to that service's terms and privacy notice. Entering details into our event or location generator does not itself submit them to Google; visiting the finished link may do so.
5. When you contact us
QRBento currently provides an email contact link rather than an on-site contact submission form. If you email us, your email provider and our receiving mail service will handle the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message, to respond to your inquiry. Please never include Wi-Fi credentials or other secrets in a support email. Message retention will depend on the configured mailbox and applicable requirements.
6. Purposes, sharing and retention
QRBento processes website requests to make the site available, maintain reliability, and protect against abuse. The browser-only QR-generation function processes your entries to produce the code you request; QRBento does not collect a copy of that content through a dedicated generation API. Hosting/security providers may handle technical request data as described above. We do not sell QR content or offer scan-tracking in this version.
QRBento does not maintain server-side QR histories. Browser-held inputs disappear when you close or reload the page, subject to your browser's own behavior. Hosting and email providers may retain technical logs and messages according to their own service settings and applicable legal requirements. These providers may process data in other countries. For more information about QRBento data requests, contact us below.
7. Privacy and security
The site uses HTTPS and local QR processing to limit unnecessary transmission, but no internet service can promise perfect security. Anyone with a shared or printed QR image may decode it. QRBento is not intended as secure storage for passwords, confidential communications, or sensitive identity records.
8. Your questions and rights
Depending on the laws applicable to you, you may have rights to be informed about personal-data processing, request access or correction, object to certain processing, and raise complaints with a relevant data protection authority. QRBento is an independent online utility project. To contact the QRBento site operator about privacy, email contact@qrbento.com or use our Contact page.
9. Children and updates
QRBento does not offer personal accounts or deliberately solicit personal data from children. We may revise this Privacy Policy if we add advertising, analytics, accounts, dynamic QR hosting, or other features. The updated date above will change when this policy changes.
